Locked ECU? We unlock it. Most Audis built from June 2020 have a locked ECU. Two routes, your choice when you book: £449 in-house on our bench, same day with no extra time, or £399 sent away, 3–4 working days with the car staying with us. What gains can I expect from Stage 1 on an Audi A8?

Gains vary by engine. The strongest on the Audi A8 is the S8 - 4.0 TFSI, which goes from 520bhp and 650Nm to 680bhp and 900Nm, a gain of 160bhp. Find your engine in the table above for its own numbers.

What does an Audi A8 remap cost?

Prices start at £449 inc VAT for Stage 1 on an Audi A8. Each engine in the table shows its own price, and adding gearbox tuning at the same time saves £125. Bumper 0% finance over 6 months and Klarna are both available.

Will my Audi A8 need unlocking before it can be tuned?

It depends on the engine as much as the year. Audis from roughly mid-2020 are locked, and so is the 4.0 V8 TFSI regardless of age. Either way we sort the unlocking: in-house on our bench or sent away, your choice, except the 4.0 V8 ECUs, which have to go away. Give us your reg and we will tell you which applies to yours. Do I need any hardware for Stage 2 on an Audi A8?

It depends on fuel. Diesels need a DPF delete (off-road use only) and an uprated intercooler; petrols need a decat or sports cat downpipe plus an uprated intercooler. Stage 2 cannot be mapped safely on a standard car, so if yours has no supporting hardware we will fit Stage 1 instead.

Does a remap invalidate the warranty or insurance on an Audi A8?

You will need to tell your insurer, as with any modification, and it can affect a remaining manufacturer warranty. Every map is reversible, so the Audi A8 can be put back to its factory software at any point.

How long will my Audi A8 be with you, and can it be undone?

Allow roughly two hours for Stage 1, including any ECU unlock on our own bench. Everything is reversible: the Audi A8 can go back to its factory software on request.
