VW & Ford Vans
Transporter, Crafter, Caddy, Transit, Transit Custom or Transit Connect: a van works hardest when it is loaded, towing or climbing, and that is where a custom remap earns its keep. Every map is written for your van’s engine and proven on our in-house 4WD rolling road in Birchwood, Warrington. Stage 1 from £449 inc VAT, usually back with you the same day.
Built For Work
Not top speed. The things you feel with a load in the back.
Extra torque low in the rev range, where a heavy van spends its day. It holds a gear up a motorway incline instead of hunting for a lower one.
Trailers, caravans and plant feel lighter on hills and joining fast roads. Your legal towing limit stays exactly what your plate says.
Most vans are mapped in around two hours on our own dyno, so it is a morning off the road, not a week, with before and after figures to show for it.

2020-On Transporter T6.1
T6.1 Transporters built from June 2020 have a locked Bosch MD1CS104 ECU, and you can usually spot it by an extra knock sensor on the engine. It can’t be opened on our bench, so we send it away to be unlocked and then tune it here as normal: £399 added to your tune, 3 to 4 working days, or £499 for the unlock on its own. A T6.1 2.0 TDI 150 goes from 150 to 195 bhp and 340 to 440 Nm.

Trade & Fleet
Builders, landscapers, couriers and camper owners all bring vans to us. If you have a few to do, get in touch and we will book them around your week so the whole fleet is never off the road at once. Every van gets its own map and its own before and after figures, not one file copied across the lot.
Van FAQs
No. The maximum towing weight and gross vehicle weight are set by the chassis, brakes and axles and are printed on your plate, and a remap does not change them. What it changes is how easily the van gets there: more torque low down means it pulls a full load or a trailer up a hill without dropping a gear and screaming, which is what most van owners actually notice.
We remap the Volkswagen Transporter (T5, T6, T6.1 and the 2025-on model), Crafter, Caddy and Multivan, and the Ford Transit, Transit Custom, Transit Connect, Tourneo Custom and Tourneo Connect. Every engine we tune, with its standard and Stage 1 figures, is listed on the model pages and in Check My Car.
Yes. Transporter T6.1s built from June 2020 have a locked Bosch MD1CS104 ECU, which you can usually spot by an extra knock sensor on the engine. It cannot be opened on our bench, so we send it away to be unlocked: it is £399 added to your tune, or £499 on its own, and the van stays with us for 3 to 4 working days. Earlier vans are done the same day.
Most van remaps take around two hours, so you drop it in and drive it away the same day. The exception is a locked ECU that has to be sent away, such as a 2020-on T6.1, where you should allow 3 to 4 working days.
A remap is a modification, so tell your insurer, and check any lease or finance agreement for a no-modifications clause first. It can also affect a remaining manufacturer warranty. Your original software is saved before we start, so the van can be returned to standard whenever you need.
Yes. If you run more than one van, get in touch and we will plan them around your week so they are never all off the road together.
