BMW X4 remapping questions

What does Stage 1 tuning do for a BMW X4?

Every BMW X4 engine is different, which is why they are listed separately above. At the top end the X4 M Competition picks up 90bhp, going 510bhp to 600bhp with torque up to 780Nm.

How much is Stage 1 tuning on a BMW X4?

A BMW X4 Stage 1 is from £449 inc VAT; gearbox software is £325–£385 on its own, or £125 less when booked with the engine tune. Finance is 0% over 6 months, or 3 payments with Klarna.

Is the ECU locked on a BMW X4?

Only the later cars. From about June 2020 the factory locks the ECU, so it needs unlocking before tuning, which we handle in-house. Pop your registration in and it will tell you either way. Check if your ECU is locked ›

What supporting mods does a BMW X4 need for Stage 2?

It depends on fuel. Diesels need a DPF delete (off-road use only) and an uprated intercooler; petrols need a decat or sports cat downpipe plus an uprated intercooler. Stage 2 cannot be mapped safely on a standard car, so if yours has no supporting hardware we will fit Stage 1 instead.

What happens to my warranty and insurance if I tune my BMW X4?

You will need to tell your insurer, as with any modification, and it can affect a remaining manufacturer warranty. Because we save your original software first, the BMW X4 can be put back to standard at any point.

Can the remap be reversed, and how long does it take?

Allow roughly two hours for Stage 1, or a half-day if the ECU needs unlocking first. Everything is reversible: we store your original software so the BMW X4 can go back to stock on request.
