BMW M5 remapping questions

What gains can I expect from Stage 1 on a BMW M5?

Every BMW M5 engine is different, which is why they are listed separately above. At the top end the F10 M5 picks up 120bhp, going 560bhp to 680bhp with torque up to 850Nm.

How much is Stage 1 tuning on a BMW M5?

A BMW M5 Stage 1 is from £749 inc VAT; gearbox software is £385 on its own, or £125 less when booked with the engine tune. Finance is 0% over 6 months, or 3 payments with Klarna.

Is the ECU locked on a BMW M5?

Only the later cars. From about June 2020 the factory locks the ECU, so it needs unlocking before tuning, which we handle in-house. Pop your registration in and it will tell you either way. Check if your ECU is locked ›

What supporting mods does a BMW M5 need for Stage 2?

A decat or sports cat downpipe and an uprated intercooler. Stage 2 is not something we can map safely on a standard car, so without the hardware we would fit Stage 1 and you can step up once it is fitted.

What happens to my warranty and insurance if I tune my BMW M5?

You will need to tell your insurer, as with any modification, and it can affect a remaining manufacturer warranty. Because we save your original software first, the BMW M5 can be put back to standard at any point.

Can the remap be reversed, and how long does it take?

Allow roughly two hours for Stage 1, or a half-day if the ECU needs unlocking first. Everything is reversible: we store your original software so the BMW M5 can go back to stock on request.
