BMW 1-Series remapping questions

How much power will a Stage 1 remap add to a BMW 1-Series?

Every BMW 1-Series engine is different, which is why they are listed separately above. At the top end the 114i picks up 118bhp, going 102bhp to 220bhp with torque up to 310Nm.

How much is Stage 1 tuning on a BMW 1-Series?

A BMW 1-Series Stage 1 is from £449 inc VAT; gearbox software is £325 on its own, or £125 less when booked with the engine tune. Finance is 0% over 6 months, or 3 payments with Klarna.

Is the ECU locked on a BMW 1-Series?

Only the later cars. From about June 2020 the factory locks the ECU, so it needs unlocking before tuning, which we handle in-house. Pop your registration in and it will tell you either way. Check if your ECU is locked ›

What supporting mods does a BMW 1-Series need for Stage 2?

It depends on fuel. Diesels need a DPF delete (off-road use only) and an uprated intercooler; petrols need a decat or sports cat downpipe plus an uprated intercooler. Stage 2 cannot be mapped safely on a standard car, so if yours has no supporting hardware we will fit Stage 1 instead.

What happens to my warranty and insurance if I tune my BMW 1-Series?

A remap is an aftermarket modification, so it is your responsibility to declare it to your insurer. It may also affect any remaining manufacturer warranty. Our maps are fully reversible and we keep your original file, so the car can be returned to stock whenever you need.

Can the remap be reversed, and how long does it take?

Most Stage 1 tunes take around two hours, and cars needing ECU unlocking are booked as a 4-hour half-day. It is completely reversible, and your factory file is saved before we touch anything.
