BMW X1 remapping questions
How much power will a Stage 1 remap add to a BMW X1?
Every BMW X1 engine is different, which is why they are listed separately above. At the top end the 18i picks up 110bhp, going 150bhp to 260bhp with torque up to 420Nm.
How much is Stage 1 tuning on a BMW X1?
A BMW X1 Stage 1 is from £449 inc VAT; gearbox software is £325–£385 on its own, or £125 less when booked with the engine tune. Finance is 0% over 6 months with Bumper, or choose Pay in full when you book and pay with Klarna.
Is the ECU locked on a BMW X1?
Only the later cars. From about June 2020 the factory locks the ECU, so it needs unlocking before tuning, which we handle in-house. Pop your registration in and it will tell you either way. Check if your ECU is locked ›
What supporting mods does a BMW X1 need for Stage 2?
It depends on fuel. Diesels need a DPF delete (off-road use only) and an uprated intercooler; petrols need a decat or sports cat downpipe plus an uprated intercooler. Stage 2 cannot be mapped safely on a standard car, so if yours has no supporting hardware we will fit Stage 1 instead.
What happens to my warranty and insurance if I tune my BMW X1?
A remap is an aftermarket modification, so it is your responsibility to declare it to your insurer. It may also affect any remaining manufacturer warranty. Our maps are fully reversible: the car can be put back to its factory software whenever you need.
Can the remap be reversed, and how long does it take?
Most Stage 1 tunes take around two hours. If the ECU needs unlocking we do that here on our own bench during the same visit, so it does not make the appointment any longer. It is completely reversible: the car can go back to its factory software whenever you need.
