BMW 2-Series remapping questions

What does Stage 1 tuning do for a BMW 2-Series?

Gains vary by engine. The strongest on the BMW 2-Series is the M2 Competition, which goes from 410bhp and 550Nm to 500bhp and 680Nm, a gain of 90bhp. Find your engine in the table above for its own numbers.

What does a BMW 2-Series remap cost?

Prices start at £449 inc VAT for Stage 1 on a BMW 2-Series. Each engine in the table shows its own price, and adding gearbox tuning at the same time saves £125. Bumper 0% finance over 6 months and Klarna are both available.

Will my BMW 2-Series need unlocking before it can be tuned?

BMW models built from roughly mid-2020 have an encrypted ECU that must be unlocked first. It is done here rather than sent away. Check your registration to see whether your particular car needs it. Check if your ECU is locked ›

Do I need any hardware for Stage 2 on a BMW 2-Series?

It depends on fuel. Diesels need a DPF delete (off-road use only) and an uprated intercooler; petrols need a decat or sports cat downpipe plus an uprated intercooler. Stage 2 cannot be mapped safely on a standard car, so if yours has no supporting hardware we will fit Stage 1 instead.

Does a remap invalidate the warranty or insurance on a BMW 2-Series?

You will need to tell your insurer, as with any modification, and it can affect a remaining manufacturer warranty. Every map is reversible, so the BMW 2-Series can be put back to its factory software at any point.

How long will my BMW 2-Series be with you, and can it be undone?

Allow roughly two hours for Stage 1. A locked ECU is unlocked in-house on the same visit without a longer appointment. Everything is reversible: the BMW 2-Series can go back to its factory software on request.
