Locked ECU? We unlock it. The 2.0 TDI registered from 2021 has a locked Bosch MD1 ECU. Two routes, your choice when you book: £449 in-house on our bench, same day with no extra time, or £399 sent away, 3–4 working days with the car staying with us. On its own, if we’re not tuning the car, it’s £549 in-house or £499 sent away. More on unlocking → Built from June 2026? What does Stage 1 tuning do for a Volkswagen Arteon?

It depends which engine you have. Across the 15 Volkswagen Arteon engines we tune, the 2.0 TSI 4Motion sees the biggest Stage 1 gain: 272bhp to 365bhp and 350Nm to 470Nm, up 93bhp. Every figure on this page is for that exact engine.

How much does it cost to remap a Volkswagen Arteon?

What does Stage 2 need on a Volkswagen Arteon?

It depends on fuel. Diesels need a DPF delete (off-road use only) and an uprated intercooler; petrols need a decat or sports cat downpipe plus an uprated intercooler. Stage 2 cannot be mapped safely on a standard car, so if yours has no supporting hardware we will fit Stage 1 instead.

Will remapping my Volkswagen Arteon affect my warranty or insurance?

You will need to tell your insurer, as with any modification, and it can affect a remaining manufacturer warranty. Every map is reversible, so the Volkswagen Arteon can be put back to its factory software at any point.

How long does it take, and is it reversible?

Allow roughly two hours for Stage 1. An in-house ECU unlock adds no extra time; allow 3–4 working days on the engines that have to be sent away. Everything is reversible: the Volkswagen Arteon can go back to its factory software on request.
