BMW X3 xDrive30e G01: ECU Unlock + Stage 1 Custom, 403bhp & 706Nm

2 November 2026 · DC Remapping UK

This 2021 BMW X3 xDrive30e (G01) plug-in hybrid came in for an ECU unlock and our Stage 1 custom dyno tune. It pairs BMW’s B48 2.0 turbo petrol with an electric motor.

ECU unlocked in-house first

Like most newer BMWs, its ECU left the factory locked, so we unlocked it in-house before carrying on with baseline runs and live data.

The numbers

On the baseline run it made 297.0bhp and 438Nm. With our calibration it made 403.2bhp and 706Nm, with 343.1bhp at the wheels. That is 106.2bhp and 268Nm more:

More torque than an X3 M Competition

Tuned, this X3 holds over 650Nm from around 2,000 to 3,600rpm and over 600Nm from around 1,850 to 4,350rpm, where the stock run stayed close to 420Nm. For reference, BMW’s own X3 M Competition makes up to 650Nm from the factory.

Where the gain is

The peak is only part of it. Tuned, this X3 carries 200Nm or more extra torque from around 1,850 to 3,900rpm, with close to 290Nm more at around 2,300rpm. Power is up by 100bhp or more from around 2,600 to 4,350rpm, peaking at around 120bhp more at 3,250rpm, and it holds over 380bhp from around 4,550rpm to the end of the run. In normal driving that is the part you feel: it pulls harder from low revs, holds on for longer and needs fewer downshifts.

Hybrid owners

Please arrive with the battery charged above 50%. A lower charge can reduce the vehicle’s performance and affect the dyno results.

How it was done

Diagnostics and a health check first, then the ECU unlock, then baseline runs on our 4WD linked dyno with live data logging. The engine calibration was built from there with repeated runs, and the final pulls verified the result. No generic files: a calibration written for this car, proven on our dyno.
