Is It Worth Remapping a BMW 330d or 335d?

17 June 2026 · DC Remapping UK

The 330d and 335d are two of the best diesels BMW ever built, and two of the most rewarding to tune. So is a remap actually worth it? For most owners, yes. Here's why.

The gains

On a Stage 1 custom map, a 330d (N57) typically goes from around 255bhp to 330bhp, and a 335d (N57S) up to around 390bhp, with big torque increases on both. Healthy, safe gains from software alone, no hardware needed.

It's the torque you'll feel

Peak power is one thing, but it's the extra mid-range torque that transforms these cars day to day, effortless overtaking, relaxed motorway cruising and stronger pull from low revs. Many owners say it feels like a bigger-engined car.

Pair it with xHP

Both use the ZF8 automatic, so we usually recommend xHP gearbox tuning alongside, firmer, faster shifts and a higher torque limit so the gearbox makes the most of the extra torque.

So, is it worth it?

For a safe, reversible, dyno-proven upgrade that genuinely changes how the car drives, it's one of the best-value things you can do to a 330d or 335d. Check your car's gains or get a free quote.
