The 320d is BMW's best-seller for good reason — efficient, comfortable and genuinely good to drive. But the factory map leaves plenty on the table. So is a remap worth it? For most 320d owners, absolutely.
On a custom Stage 1 map, a 320d typically makes around 230bhp with a strong torque increase — all from software, no hardware needed. Depending on the exact model year and engine (N47 or B47), the figures vary slightly, but the jump in real-world pull is significant across the board.
The 320d's factory tune is conservative low down. A remap fills in that mid-range so the car pulls harder from low revs — easier overtaking, more relaxed motorway cruising and less need to work the gearbox. Many owners also see a small economy benefit on a steady cruise (though that depends on your right foot).
If yours is the ZF8 automatic, xHP gearbox tuning alongside gives firmer, faster shifts and a higher torque limit to suit the extra torque.
For a safe, reversible, dyno-proven upgrade that transforms daily drivability on Britain's most common BMW, it's excellent value. Check your 320d's gains or get a free quote.
