Why We Tune on a 4WD Dyno, Not on the Road

22 June 2026 · DC Remapping UK

Not all remaps are created on the same equipment. Plenty are flashed on a driveway or developed on the road. We build and prove every map on our own in-house V-Tech 4WD dyno, and here's why that matters.

You can measure, not guess

On a dyno we hold the engine at load, log every parameter, and see exactly what fuelling, boost and timing are doing. On the road you're guessing, you can't safely hold full load, read live data and adjust at the same time. The dyno lets us develop a map methodically and safely.

Before-and-after proof

Because we measure on the rollers, you drive away with a before-and-after power printout showing your real gains, not a claimed figure. No guesswork, just numbers.

Why 4WD matters

Many workshops only have a 2WD dyno, which can't properly load an xDrive, Quattro or 4Matic car. Ours is a 4WD linked rolling road, so we load all four wheels and tune four-wheel-drive BMW and VAG cars safely and accurately, exactly as they drive on the road.

It's slower and more expensive than a driveway flash, but it's the right way to do it. Get a quote and have your car tuned properly.
