BMW 320i G20: Stage 1 Custom Dyno Tune

Another modern BMW petrol optimised properly. This BMW 320i G20, running the B48 2.0 turbo petrol, came in for our Stage 1 custom dyno calibration and left completely transformed, every bit of it developed live on our 4WD linked V-Tech dyno.

The numbers

It arrived producing 172bhp and 298Nm on our baseline run. After a bespoke calibration written for this exact car, it left making 277bhp and 417Nm, measured on the rollers, not estimated:

What the transformation feels like

That’s +106bhp and +119Nm, and the difference is significant. The engine now delivers far stronger mid-range performance, sharper throttle response and a much more urgent pull through the gears, completely changing how the car feels in real-world driving, while keeping delivery smooth and progressive.

The B48 platform responds exceptionally well when calibrated correctly. That headroom lets us safely unlock a substantial increase in performance while maintaining smooth power delivery and everyday reliability, provided the map is written properly for the specific car, not flashed from a generic file.

How it was done

All work was carried out live on our V-Tech 4WD linked dyno, with a full health check before any tuning and detailed data logging throughout to ensure safe, consistent and repeatable results. The calibration was written for this exact car, its ECU variant, its fuel, its condition. No generic files. No shortcuts. Just precision tuning done properly, with the original software backed up so it’s fully reversible.
