BMW 335d xDrive: Already Remapped, Now Stage 1 + xHP Stage 3 at 388bhp & 775Nm

This BMW 335d xDrive F30 came to us already remapped. Its owner had a driveway remap done elsewhere and wasn’t happy with it, so they brought it in for our Stage 1 custom dyno tune for the N57 3.0 diesel, with an xHP Stage 3 calibration for the ZF 8-speed.

Three runs, one sheet

The dyno sheet shows the car stock, as it arrived, and with our finished calibration: 310bhp and 612Nm stock, 360bhp and 711Nm as it arrived, and 388bhp and 775Nm when it left. That is 78bhp and 163Nm over stock, and 28bhp and 64Nm more than the remap it came in with:

Up to 100Nm more than its previous remap

The biggest difference is in the mid-range. Tuned, this 335d holds over 700Nm from around 2,000 to 3,800rpm, with up to 100Nm more than the remap it arrived with around 3,400rpm, which is where you feel it on the road. 775Nm is more torque than an F90 M5 makes from the factory. xHP Stage 3 lets the 8-speed handle it properly, with quicker, sharper shifts.

How it was done

Diagnostics and a health check first, then baseline runs on our 4WD linked dyno with live data logging. The engine calibration was built from there with repeated runs, the gearbox was flashed with xHP Stage 3, and the final pulls verified the result. No generic files: a calibration written for this car, proven on our dyno.
