Official UK V-Tech Dyno Supplier
Every modern performance car is four-wheel drive, and a single-axle dyno cannot measure one properly. The V-Tech VT-4 range is a two-axle, mechanically synchronised rolling road built for xDrive, Quattro, 4Matic and active centre diffs. We supply, install and support them across the UK, and we run one ourselves every week.
Why Linked Matters
The hard part of measuring a 4WD car is keeping both axles at exactly the same speed. Get it wrong and the car’s own traction control and active centre differential see a mismatch, intervene, and either corrupt the reading or damage the drivetrain. V-Tech solves it mechanically: the axles are physically synchronised rather than electronically matched, which is why the VT-4 range handles cars with active centre diffs and advanced traction systems safely.
The other half is load. An inertial dyno measures what the car does accelerating against a known mass, which is perfect for before-and-after power runs. Eddy-current brakes let you hold the car at a fixed rpm and throttle opening, which is what you actually need for part-throttle mapping, transient testing and full load-control work. The VT-4 is inertial and upgradeable; the VT-4/B2 and VT-4/B4 add two or four 1000 Nm brakes.
All three share a 319 mm bi-prismatic knurled, chrome-plated roller set, 3,000 real measurement points per second, relative accuracy under 0.1% and a 300 km/h V-max, with above-ground or in-ground installation.

A two-axle dyno for cars with one or two driven axles. Mechanical axle synchronisation as standard, perfect for active centre diffs, xDrive and Quattro. Upgradeable to braked.

Two-axle linked dyno with two eddy-current brakes (2 × 1000 Nm). Full load-control testing on 4WD vehicles, with synchronised axles for safe, accurate runs.

The ultimate 4WD-linked rolling road, four eddy-current brakes (4 × 1000 Nm) for the highest-power builds and the most demanding load-control work. The full-fat tuner’s dyno.
Every VT-4 handles cars with one or two driven axles, so a 4WD rig still measures front and rear-wheel-drive cars normally. The inertial VT-4 can be upgraded with brakes later.

We Own One
This is not a range we resell from a brochure. The rolling road that writes customer maps at Birchwood every week is a V-Tech 4WD-linked dyno, and most of what goes on it is exactly what you would be buying one for — xDrive BMWs, Quattro Audis and 4Matic Mercedes that a single-axle rig cannot touch. When we tell you what the mechanical axle sync is like to live with, it is because we live with it.
That also means we can be honest about when you do not need this much dyno. Plenty of shops are better served by a single-axle VT-2 that upgrades to 4WD later, and we will say so. See how we use ours for live dyno calibration.
On the supply side we handle spec and pricing, delivery, installation above-ground or in-ground, commissioning, DynaVTECH software setup and training, with UK-based support, a 24-month warranty extendable to 36 months, and free software updates when serviced by V-Tech.

Buying Questions
The inertial VT-4 starts at £47,000 ex VAT, the VT-4/B2 with two eddy-current brakes at £62,000, and the four-brake VT-4/B4 at £77,000. Those are starting prices for the rig itself. Delivery, installation, commissioning, software setup and training are quoted per site once we know whether you are going above-ground or in-ground.
It depends what comes through your door. If you tune xDrive, Quattro, 4Matic or any car with an active centre differential, you need a linked 4WD rig — a single-axle dyno cannot measure those cars safely or accurately. If you are mostly on front and rear-wheel-drive cars, a VT-2 is a far cheaper way in, and it can be upgraded to 4WD later.
Yes. The VT-4 is upgradeable to braked, and every 2WD dyno in the range can grow into a 4WD version. That modularity is one of the main reasons we sell V-Tech — you are not locked into the spec you can afford on day one.
Both are available on every car and van model. In-ground gives you a flat floor and easier loading but needs a pit dug and is not portable. Above-ground is quicker to install and can be moved, at the cost of ramps and headroom. We will talk you through which suits your unit before you commit.
DynaVTECH, V-Tech’s own software, kept current through the TrueForce II platform. It does power and torque in inertial or braked modes, constant-rpm and steady-state runs, live OBD logging of boost, AFR and temperatures on the same graph, DIN/EWG/ISO/SAE correction with a weather station, and branded printouts with your logo stored in a database.
A standard 24-month warranty, extendable to 36 months, free software updates when the dyno is serviced by V-Tech, and UK-based support from our team. We are a working tuning shop running the same equipment, so you are not calling a reseller who has never mapped a car.
