Audi S3 Tuning Guide

The Audi S3 shares its brilliant EA888 turbo engine and Quattro drivetrain with the Golf R, a compact, all-weather rocket with big tuning potential. Here's what a remap does for it.

Typical Stage 1 gains

On a custom Stage 1 map, an S3 typically climbs from around 300–310bhp to 360–380bhp, with a strong torque increase and much sharper throttle response, all from software, no hardware needed.

Stage 2 and beyond

With supporting hardware (downpipe, intake, intercooler), Stage 2 unlocks bigger figures again. The EA888 has real headroom when it's mapped properly on the dyno.

Tune the S-Tronic too

The S3's S-Tronic gearbox responds brilliantly to gearbox tuning, faster, firmer shifts, launch control and a higher torque limit to match the engine tune.

Quattro needs a 4WD dyno
