It's one of the most-searched diesel questions, so let's answer it honestly and clearly: removing or deleting a DPF on a car used on public roads is not legal in the UK.
Since 2014 it has been an MOT failure to have a DPF that has been removed (or an obviously tampered-with system). Beyond the MOT, it's an offence to use a vehicle on the road that has had its emissions control equipment removed or rendered inoperative. In short: for a road car, the DPF must be present and working.
There are genuine, legal uses — vehicles used purely off-road or in motorsport, and vehicles being exported to markets where it's permitted. That's the only context in which we carry out a DPF delete.
If your DPF is blocked or throwing faults on a road car, the right answer usually isn't deletion — it's proper diagnosis and repair: a forced regeneration, a clean, or fixing the underlying cause (often a sensor, or a car that never gets a good motorway run). Our guide to DPF problems explains the common fixes.
