The BMW N57 35d engine is one of the most impressive powerplants in BMW’s lineup, combining exceptional performance, smooth power delivery, and strong fuel efficiency. This 3.0-litre straight-six twin-turbo diesel is controlled by the Bosch EDC17CP45 ECU and paired with the ZF8 automatic transmission.

Most models, apart from the F10/F11 535d, feature BMW’s xDrive all wheel drive system, ensuring the immense torque is transferred efficiently to the road.
 

Even in stock form, the N57 35d performs brilliantly  but with a custom dyno Stage 1 remap from DC Remapping UK, these cars become genuinely rapid. Our Stage 1 ECU tuning typically achieves sub-4-second 0–60mph times, outperforming even the BMW F80 M3 in a straight-line sprint.

While BMW quotes 313bhp and 620Nm, on our 4WD linked dyno we generally see factory figures closer to 295–305bhp and 590–610Nm.
