EGR Delete
EGR Removal and Delete Services: Enhance Engine Performance
At DC, we offer advanced EGR removal solutions to address common issues caused by clogged EGR valves. Carbon deposits can cause these valves to fail or stick, resulting in error codes and poor engine performance.
Effective EGR Delete Software
Our software solution to disable the EGR valve improves engine efficiency, offering a reliable method to enhance your vehicle's performance.
What is EGR?
Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) is a widely adopted technique to reduce NOx emissions. By recirculating a portion of the engine’s exhaust back into the intake air, EGR helps lower combustion temperatures and reduce emissions.
How Does an EGR Work?
EGR works by sending a small part of the exhaust gas back into the vehicle’s cylinders, reducing combustion temperature and decreasing NOx emissions. This process maintains pressure while reducing excess oxygen before combustion.
Studies on diesel engines show that EGR can reduce nitrous oxide emissions, although it may increase smoke density. This highlights the trade-offs depending on your vehicle's needs.
Typically, an engine recirculates exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold to the inlet manifold through an EGR valve, which regulates and times the gas flow. Some engines use a camshaft design to trap exhaust gas within the cylinder, known as internal EGR.
Benefits of EGR Removal and Delete
Modern engines use EGR systems to reduce emissions, but this can lead to carbon deposits building up in the intake manifold, causing EGR system failures. Replacing EGR valves can be expensive, and in high-mileage engines, carbon buildup can lead to total engine failure.
Removing the EGR system by blanking off the exhaust input and reprogramming the ECU offers several benefits:
-
Lowered engine temperatures
-
Improved throttle response
-
Enhanced fuel economy
-
Prolonged engine life by reducing oil contamination and carbon deposits
Legal Considerations
EGR removal is intended for off-road use only.
Options for EGR Maintenance
EGR valves can become clogged with carbon deposits, hindering their operation. While cleaning may help, replacement is often necessary if the valve is faulty. Alternatively, the EGR system can be removed, blanked, and deleted from the ECU for better performance.
