DC Remapping UK recently had the pleasure of custom tuning a Volkswagen Golf R 2.0 TSI. The owner of this particular Golf R came to us looking for a bit more power and an overall improved driving experience.
Starting with the baseline numbers, the Golf R was already a solid performer with 306 horsepower and 407nm of torque. However, with our custom tuning expertise, we were able to push the limits even further.
After our custom tuning, the Golf R's engine was able to achieve 373 horsepower and 528nm of torque. Additionally, we also fine-tuned the DSG gearbox to further enhance the driving experience.
The process began with a thorough health check on the engine to ensure that it was running at its best before we began the tuning process. We then used our state-of-the-art 4 wheel drive linked V-Tech dyno to measure the vehicle's current horsepower and torque output. From there, we made adjustments to the engine calibration, air/fuel ratio, and other parameters to optimize performance.
We then tested the results on the dyno and made any necessary adjustments until we achieved the desired horsepower and torque output.
The end result was a Golf R that was not only more powerful and responsive, but also more efficient. Our custom tuning not only increased the vehicle's performance, but also kept the engine and its components within safe limits to ensure reliability.
